on "whimsy and joy":

perhaps this'll change in time, but i feel a sort of dissonance with those i find "obsessed" with being whimsical. i do not mind letting people express/explore their interests, but there is a line that borders the innocent quirks and the absurd. i feel it is important to have moderation in everything, discipline you might say. the mindset of "being cringe is being free", while i agree for the most part, i disagree on some aspects. this hyperfocus on individuality i feel is ignorant of the surroundings, something i believe is valued just as much as the individual.
